Voula Paraskevi Giouli

I am a computational linguist working mainly in the development of language resources (corpora, lexica, tools) for processing Greek texts. My MSc thesis “Topic Chaining and Discourse Structure in Task-oriented dialogues” supervised by Dr M. Poesio (University of Edinburgh, School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences. MSc. in Speech and Language Processing) involved the annotation of a sub-part of the MapTask corpus. Since then, I have worked at the Institute for Language and Speech Processing, on various national and EU R&D projects. My research is focused around the foloowingQ1. 2. Textual Entailment (TE). We have developed a corpus annotated for TE in Greek and we started developing a tool for recognizing whether textual entailment holds between two text segments (T and H).
